M1820 Naval Cutlass
It is short, straight & ugly, but it is a Kongsberg and a navy cutlass copied from the English “figure of eight” cutlass. The hilt should have been painted black, this one is sort of tinted slight red/brownish all over – I wonder why? The cutlass was replaced by the M1850 cutlass that had a slightly curved blade.
