M1820 Saber for the riding offisers

This is a beautiful sword – until you take it out of the scabbard. The Kongsberg version of this sword is very scarce and all “knowers” believe my sword to be the Swedish produced one – until they see the workmanship. It is appalling! The sword looks great at a distance; but getting close to it, one sees all the black stripes in the blade – folds of air. The evidence is clear – Kongsberg just were not able to make blades of acceptable quality in their first years.
