M1818 Kongsberg flintlock pistol
Just for starters, this is not the Kongsberg M1818 pistol, I don’t have an original Kongsberg M1818 and I don’t believe anybody else has one either. There is one on private hands, but how much of it is new and how much is original, I just don’t know. The Norwegian Defence Museum has one that has been converted to percussion.
The Kongsberg M1818 is a modified copy of the Swedish M1807, but with more or less the same hammer at this Swedish M1809 and with a brass pan. The barrel is marked with Kongsberg VF in the rear on the left side (on the original pistol). The Kongsberg is a little bit longer than the one on the picture – the barrel is 29,4 cm long. If anybody, by chance or luck, should… I’d be very happy to relieve you of it…
